Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

We collect the minimum information needed to run Indril well:

• Account information — your name, chosen username, email or mobile number, password and profile details you add.
• Content you create — photos, videos, stories, voice notes, captions, comments and messages you send on Indril.
• Usage information — the content you view, like, share, follow and search, so we can personalise your feed.
• Device and technical information — device model, operating system, app version, language settings and connection data used to keep Indril fast and secure.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to operate, maintain and improve Indril; personalise your experience and recommendations; deliver the Creator Program, badges and rewards; keep the platform safe by detecting abuse, spam and violations of our Terms and Community Guidelines; and communicate with you about your account, updates and support requests.

3. Permissions and device access

Indril asks for device permissions only when a feature needs them — for example, camera and microphone when you create content, or storage when you save posts. You can change permissions at any time in your device settings, and core features of Indril remain usable without optional permissions.

4. Private accounts and View Once

Private accounts let you approve who follows you before they can see your content. View Once messages are designed to be viewed a single time; we do not retain the media from a View Once message after it has been viewed and the session ends. No technology is absolute — remember that anyone can photograph a screen, so share carefully.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us run Indril (such as hosting, delivery and support tools) under strict confidentiality obligations, with authorities where required by Indian law, or in the course of a merger or restructuring, subject to this policy continuing to apply.

6. Data storage and security

Indril is built in India for India, and our goal is to keep Indian user data on Indian soil wherever technically possible. We protect your information with encryption in transit, access controls and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your trust as our most important asset.

7. Children's privacy

Indril is not intended for children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child is using Indril, contact us at hello@indril.in.

8. Your rights and choices

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and general data-protection principles, you can:

• Access and correct your personal information from your profile settings.
• Download your content and delete your account at any time from Settings — deletion removes your content from active systems within a reasonable period.
• Withdraw consent for optional processing, such as personalised recommendations.
• Set your account to private, control who can message you and manage View Once expectations in your chats.

9. Grievance Officer

In line with India's IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, we appoint a Grievance Officer to address your concerns:

• Response time: within 15 working days of receiving a complaint.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Indril evolves. When we make material changes, we will notify you in the app before they take effect. The effective date above tells you when this version began applying.
