Community Guidelines

Indril is a home for Indian creators and communities — a place where every voice, in every language, finds its people. These Guidelines keep Indril safe, welcoming and worth opening every day. They apply to everything you post, share and send, including private messages.

Effective date · 9 September 2026

1. Be authentic

Be yourself, create originally and grow honestly. Do not impersonate people or brands, spread misinformation that causes real-world harm, or buy and sell followers, likes and engagement. Authentic communities only work when the numbers are real.

2. Keep it safe

Indril must never put anyone in danger. We remove content and accounts involved in:

  • Violence, threats or promotion of physical harm.
  • Self-harm and suicide encouragement — we instead surface help resources.
  • Illegal goods and services, including drugs, weapons and human trafficking.
  • Fraud, scams and phishing, including fake giveaways and investment schemes.

3. No hate, no harassment

India speaks many languages, and Indril welcomes all of them — but hate has no language here. We prohibit attacks on people for their religion, caste, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, disability or nationality, as well as bullying, stalking, sexual harassment and unwanted sexual content.

4. Respect privacy

Consent is the heart of Indril. Do not share someone's private information (address, phone number, financial details), do not post identifiable people without their consent, and never attempt to capture or reshare someone's View Once media. Private accounts are respected by the community and protected by the platform.

5. Original content only

Share what is yours. Do not repost someone else's photos, videos, music or art without permission, and do not re-upload creators' work to pass it off as your own. Creators who report stolen work can expect fast action — original work earns original rewards.

6. Keep it age-appropriate

Indril is for people 13 and older but is not a place for adult content. No nudity, sexual acts or graphic violence. Content that is artistic or educational but borderline should carry appropriate warnings and may be limited to adults.

7. No spam or platform manipulation

Do not flood feeds with repetitive or automated content, use bots or scripts to inflate engagement, or exploit bugs for reach. Manipulation distorts discovery for everyone and violates the Creator Program's fairness rules.

8. Reporting and enforcement

Every post, profile and message can be reported in the app — reports about private accounts and View Once misuse are treated with priority. Our team reviews reports against these Guidelines and may take one or more of the following actions:

  • Remove the content or account that violates the Guidelines.
  • Issue warnings, restrict features or reduce distribution of violative content.
  • Temporarily suspend or permanently ban accounts for serious or repeated violations.
  • Refer illegal activity to appropriate authorities as required by law.

9. Appeals

If your content or account was actioned and you believe we got it wrong, appeal directly from the notification you receive, or write to hello@indril.in. Appeals are reviewed by a separate team, and we will restore anything removed in error.

10. Living by the spirit

No list can cover everything. If an action would hurt, endanger or mislead the community, these Guidelines treat it as a violation even if it is not explicitly listed. Build boldly, create freely — and leave Indril better than you found it.
